Achill Sound Sewage Scheme
The worst thing I find about local council is inactivity on certain issues. Take for instance the Achill Sound Sewage scheme…30 years that has been in the mix with them. Its only now the eve of an election that there is an impetus to get things done. They have announced that Achill Sound shall have a sewage scheme.
I mean creating a sewage system that can hold 1,200 votes…I mean accomodate 1200 homes is quite an achievment on the eve of an election. The bigger picture still shows a lot of people living on the island still do not have this basic service. Perhaps politicians will revist this issue when they start knocking on doors.
