Than to be battered by the waves on one of Ireland’s most scenic locations, feeling wet and cold and pumped to the nines with adreneline. Yes, welcome to one of Irelands best surfing locations.
Achill boast several blue flag beaches…I mean if you’re gonna be lashed by water better it be nice and clean than dirty. The main beach for surfing in Keel in the centre of the island has been known to produce waves of swell of 5-8ft.
Its an ideal beach for those wishing to learn to surf but also given a westerly swell and a nice north easterly wind it provides a challange to the most experienced of surfers.
